Armored car Studebaker 1930
This photo (Above) of a 1930 Studebaker President Automobile was
taken in 1931 in front of City Hall in Marion, Indiana. This
Studebaker was the city's first armored car.
My grandfather Charles S. Rosencrance (on right), the city's chief
of police, is with Mayor Jack Edwards and the mayor's dog. The
Studebaker was custom-built for the police department in the
gangster era. It seated Six comfortably and was equipped with two
Thompson sub-machine guns, tow shotguns and two high-powered rifles.
